Homework Plus

When children attend Homework Plus, they receive a healthy snack and one-on-one help with their homework.  They engage in quiet, educational activities known to help with literacy and critical thinking skills.  They are given the opportunity to engage in conversation with educated adults.

Our aim is to provide a quality afterschool experienced modeled on the old-fashioned home in which children were greeted afterschool with a snack and a few kind words, and help with homework.

At first, we offered Homework Plus during the school year only.  But every spring, the children ask, “What about the summer?  Can we come in the summer?”  So by special request, we managed to keep our doors open all summer long.

**When The Learning for a Lifetime Foundation won an award of $1000 from the Chaminade University Hogan Business Plan Writing Competition, we decided to invite the Hawaii Potters Guild to give classes to children afterschool.
