Success Stories
When Malia (not her real name) began our program and was asked to describe her life ten years in the future, she said “I’ll probably be dead.” But she made it through the program. Here’s the happy ending she wrote for herself:
I get to Champs where I am a sales manager. I see my co-workers, Justin and Jeremiah. They’ve got smiles on their faces. They’re always happy.
I know that time will fly by. I clock in and I do some paper work and I handle some customers at the desk. I check to see the time and it’s twelve.
I leave work to pick up my kids from school. I walk to the classroom because they like it when I come in to get them. I say Hi to their teacher. They’re doing very well in school. I get their backpacks together and we walk out. We get in the car and my cell phone rings. It’s Gus. He’s calling to make sure I have the kids and we’re all okay. He tells me he’ll be home for dinner tonight and why don’t we all go out for some pizza? The kids all yell, “Yay.”
I feel happy. Things have turned out better than I ever expected.
