Research shows that if there’s one thing a parent can do to ensure a child’s academic success, it’s to have dinner together as a family every night. For most American families, that’s not a reality, especially in light of the economy. When you look at the pressure on our families today, all our families, it’s amazing our children are functioning at all. All kids need adults - so what can we do about it? At Learning for a Lifetime, neighborhood kids can come in and get a free snack, a little help with their language arts homework, and some TLC on the side. We’ve made it possible for a volunteer to contribute as little as two hours per month helping with spelling words, or handing out a snack.
